What is product information management?

Product information management (PIM) is the centralized organization and content enrichment of product-related information for the customer's multi-channel needs. It is easy to manage product documents comprehensively throughout the product's life cycle, from certificate, measurement or installation instructions related to product selection to warranty, maintenance and recycling instructions. High-resolution versions of the images are uploaded to Adeona, from which the system automatically converts images of different sizes to, for example, websites. Pictures and media can also be shared with external users via a customizable user interface.

Adeona PIM REST API enables easy and efficient utilization of product information in different channels. Channels can be, for example, your own, a retailer's or partner's online store or website, a product data bank or register, such as SYNKKA or STK. 

Adeona PIM is built API-oriented, and its documented API makes it possible to utilize and update all information contained in PIM, including product information, categories, files - as well as system settings. 

Using the API, the implementation of new publishing channels is basically easy, and does not require any adaptation work or integration skills in the case of Adeona PIM. 

The interface provides data in JSON format, which is a simple open standard file format and the prevailing way in REST interfaces. You can do the integrations yourself, let us do them, or use another partner of your choice. The process is easy and risk-free. 

Adeona PIM offers users extensive and efficient search functions. Products can be filtered with different search factors both in the user interface and through the interface, e.g. in integrations. More advanced users can use Adeona's search language, which enables even wider search possibilities, using, for example, AND and OR conditions, parentheses, regular expressions, etc. 

The search API is also the most efficient way to retrieve product information, e.g. for use in a web service in integration. Our documentation provides clear examples and best practices for this.

The search index used in the background enables fast searches, and the transmission of large data masses is also efficient. It is also easy to limit what information about the products the search returns. In this way, the integration becomes even more efficient, as unnecessary information is not transferred at all. 

Adeona's search can also be used, for example, on the e-commerce side, if the e-commerce platform does not offer sufficient search functionality. In this way, the search functions for large masses of products can be implemented very easily in the online store.
