Vierumäki

Vierumäki is a leisure, sports, training and coaching center located in Heinola, and its basic mission is to produce and develop international-level services for education, exercise and top-level sports. To achieve this task, the customers are provided with advantageous conditions in the form of nutrition, rest and sports facilities.

Vierumäki is a versatile center for leisure and movement, and there has been a strong effort and investment in the development of customer services. Part of this investment is the reshaping of digital services and the future target architecture. In connection with future planning, Vierumäki identified the need to centrally manage information about products and services in such a way that information management is efficient and flexible, and that the right information is made available to the services that need it in accordance with the target architecture.

Vierumäki ended up as an Adeona customer with a somewhat atypical product portfolio. However, the most important criteria for the product information management system were similar to those of customers selling more traditional products:

  • Easy to implement, easy to expand
  • Content management of services and a data model that adapts to future needs
  • Language version management
  • Building different commercial product packages and linking products to each other so that the online store and other digital services show users the correct and relevant options at each step of the transaction path

Adeona PIM as multi-channel enabler

With the help of Adeona PIM an efficient and user-friendly centralized management and distribution of commercial product information and digital materials is enabled for Vierumäki.

From Vierumäki's point of view, the benefits of Adeona PIM are:

The Adeona PIM implementation project was timed at the same time as Vierumäki's website renewal by Lamia, and there was close cooperation between Vierumäki, Lamia and Adeona in the projects. Adeona PIM's role behind the new online service is to enable:

  • Unified and centralized product information management, which includes product information in addition to product information
    • Web service product hierarchy
    • Links of online service products to other products
    • Online service search criteria
  • Product life cycle
    • Product opening and closing process
    • Product enrichment process
    • Ownership of Products
  • Centralized material management
    • Effortless distribution of images and files to the online service and other channels

In Vierumäki's case, different product links were particularly emphasized, which enable you to nimbly connect different product types to each other in the online service. A good example of this is, for example, connecting accommodation to an exercise course. This way, when booking an exercise course, the user immediately receives suggestions for suitable accommodation options in Vierumäki, or when booking accommodation, suggestions for possible activities during the visit.

From Vierumäki's point of view, the Adeona implementation project and the renewal of the online service were materialized particularly well thanks to the active cooperation. Sanna Partanen who was responsible for the project from Vierumäki, has a few tips for a successful implementation project:

  1. Regular agreed status meetings between all parties
  2. Direct and open communication
  3. A properly done definition job
  4. Investing in documentation
  5. Competent and dedicated project team
