Vieser enhances product information management with Adeona PIM

Vieser, a Finnish family-owned company focusing on the manufacture and sale of floor drains, wanted to sharpen its product information processes. After a pre-feasibility study related to product management, the company decided to implement Adeona PIM.

Domestic family business Vieser manufactures and sells floor drains and related solutions. The company found a need to improve product information management, because product information was maintained in many different places and in several different languages. It took a lot of time to open and update the products, because it had to be done multiple times on different systems. Therefore, the company decided to conduct a feasibility study to observe the entire product information process with its various meeting points.

"In the pre-study, we took a good look at where we have product information, what we do with it and where the information is exported", says Senior Product Manager Jaana Honkonen.

The pre-study project was done thoroughly: the existing challenges were considered, different systems were taken into account, the goals and the need for improvement for product information management were specified. As a result of the preliminary study, it was seen how processes could be improved with the help of PIM, and the benefits became concrete in practical experimentation.

Vieser operates in Finland, Sweden, Norway and Estonia. In addition to these, the company has product information in English on its website. Vieser's product information process for retailers utilizes country-specific general information services and product information registers, such as LVI-Info and Rakennustieto in Finland, RSK in Sweden and NRF in Norway. The product opening process for retailers has also become easier with PIM.

Updating different language versions in many systems and websites used to be quite tedious. Today, work is smoother, and manual, overlapping work is reduced when product information is updated first into Adeona PIM from where they move to other systems and websites. Vieser is still in the early stages of PIM's use, but the system has already benefited a lot and further development ideas have also been thought about.
