In this article KoneBoss Marketing Manager Noora Laahanen tells about our cooperation and experiences with product information management.

Starting point

The reason for acquiring a product information management system was the desire to minimize the amount of data transfer and learning new things.

The new KoneBoss online store designed for retailer's needed supporting software, which would enable product information enriching and the smooth management of product images. The company's enterprise resource planning system at the time did not adapt to this. In addition, there was a need to bring tools to sellers for collecting and communicating product information to customers in the future.

The old favorite, lack of resources, was also perceived as a challenge, as it felt like there was not enough time for everything.

Solution

At KoneBoss, PIM works between the ERP system and the online store, and it transports product information through integration to the online store under construction.

The product information management system enables KoneBoss to visually manage and enrich product information and forward this information to customers, i.e., for example, to retailers of products imported by KoneBoss Oy.

"Above all, we want to help our customers promote their sales, but also our sellers working in the field, so that they could easily search for the product they want with information and pictures from the online store."

Indirectly, PIM also serves KoneBoss' customers and enables better customer service.

How were the challenges of fragmented product information reflected in your work?

"Although Perkko had been using the older version of Adeona PIM for several years, the software was not used to its full potential. KoneBoss has professional salespeople who have been in the house for years, and their strength is definitely product expertise. However, it is not enough that a single salesperson knows all the products by heart, the need was to have the product register also in a visual form, so that it would be easy to search for information, for example, when moving around in the field."

The after-effects of the cooperation project

"Without Canter's skilled team and our project manager Sanna, we wouldn't still be here. Canter made a great and clear project plan, and after each meeting the things we went through together were carefully documented.

If something or a task had been left undone on our part, Sanna would patiently remind us a couple of times. This is how we stayed on schedule with the project. Another positive thing was the easy usability of Adeona PIM. The software is clear and easy to understand," says Noora.
